A2ZTranslate Ltd.
the professional translation company

A2ZTranslate was founded in 2002. Starting off as a translation home office in Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand, we soon moved to premises in High Street. From there we have moved several times as expansion required. We currently reside in the O’Connell Collective, at the General Buildings, 29-33 Shortland Street, Auckland CBD.

We have in-house and contract translators working across 30 language pairs. We run the most up to date CAT programs, if you don’t know what they are then just ask; it is the most valuable part of your translation IP. In short it means we use real people translators, but manage the translation process with the most sophisticated software to remember your previous translations, and recycle them into a new structure or format. We build and develop term bases and translation memories on behalf of our clients, and host them, but we always guarantee:

  • your term base and/or translation memory is yours
  • they will never be mixed with any other
  • we host it on your behalf
  • but, should you ever choose to bring translation in-house/change provider, we will deliver the term base and translation memory to you within 5 working days

A Translation Memory or Term Base is actually part of your company IP; please don't undervalue it. It has true worth, it has taken a lot of work to build, and should not be discarded easily.

Meet the team

Mark

Mark has lived more than half his adult life overseas. Stints in Indonesia (2 years), Japan (12 years), and Thailand (4 years). Fluent in Japanese (written and spoken), self-taught in Maori, with a smattering of other languages, Mark has an in-depth understanding of how language is the mirror image of culture, and vice versa.

Mizuho

Mizuho originally trained as a pharmacist in Japan. Then she headed out and came to New Zealand in 1999. In 2009 she graduated from Auckland University with a PGDip in Translation. Mizuho has in-depth experience in translating NZ specific content.

Supavadee (Oum)

In Thailand, no one uses their birth name (always way too long and complicated); it is always a nickname, hence Oum.

Oum has a BBS from Siam University, specializing in international trade. She came on board with A2Z in 2010 helping to project manage Thai language projects. Anyone who knows Thai will realize how complicated this can be, as there are no set rules for transposing English words to Thai phonetically.

Daniel

Daniel is a native of Uruguay, the heart of South America. A Certified Public Accountant (+BBA), Daniel leads our Spanish and Portuguese (Brazilian) translation team. Not to mention that he has been working in management for companies as diverse as Document Management, Import/Export of Computer accessories and the Textile Industry.

Vimal

Vimal supports all our Indic language translations. Fluent in Hindi and Gujarati, he holds a DEE in Electrical Engineering from University of Baroda, and a DCS in Computing from Aptech. Vimal also has working knowledge of Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Nepali, meaning he is a perfect fit for your Indic language translation requirements.

Christine

Christine supports all our French language projects. She has Irish nationality, raised in Belgium, Italy and the UK, now residing in France. Working as a translator since 2000, she has extensive experience in English to French translation.
